The sculptural and architectural elements were inspired by Henry Fuseli’s sketch of ‘A Capriccio of the Horse tamers’ (c.1810-11). The transparent sketched portrait at the center is drafted from Sir Anthony van Dyck’s ‘Portrait of Frans Snyders’ (c.1611-22), a naturalist portrayed here mimicking the Eastern ‘Mudra’ [Buddhist hand gestures] of the touching of the Earth. This Mudra is also known as ‘calling the Earth to bear witness to the attainment of enlightenment.'
